* Are you sure you have asp.net 3.5 installed on the server
* Can you look in the Event log and see what the exact error is?
* Also Note: in IIS you will also need to set the MIME Type: Setting .xap MIME Type for Silverlight 2.0 (http://www.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNukeHELP/Misc/Silverlight/SettingMimeType.html)

Re previous post. I dont think that event log entry referes to the problem. I am getting the error when i install the module, it is not actually running. All other extensions seem to be okay however. Not sure how to locate the specific event log entry, assuming there is one. What should i be looking for?

I cleared the event log and tried to re-install the silverlight module. Here are the two event log entries.

First, Thank You for taking the time to follow up. It is very helpful.

The problem appears to be an error when you click the button to install the module but the module is not actually being installed. Possible causes:
* An error is being thrown because the system is trying to write to a directory that it does not have permission for
* The path name of the file being uploaded is too long or has illegal characters

All I can say is I was able to install it on my system using DNN5 (the version I downloaded on Saturday).

You can try DNN4 (the process is a pain because you have to make so many changes to the web.config).

Otherwise I'm stuck because the error is not coming from SilverlightDesktop :(

When i get a minute from the day job, i may try a clean install of RC2 and see if it installs then. Its obscure isnt it. :-(
Nice module though, keep up the good work.
